INTERNATIONAL SELF CARE DAY • 24 JULY

From The Founder, Richard Brook

I know I can speak on behalf of all my team when I say we take great pride in what we offer. This pride comes from being passionate about what we do and seeing that all of us – just like you – are walking this tight rope of trying to stay naturally healthy while living in big cities that come with their own demands that can conflict with what the body, mind and emotions are calling out for.

Many of my team have also sat countless hours behind desks and left work with minds log-jammed with information so we understand the benefits of what we offer.

And I can’t emphasise enough it’s our joy to do what we do – for me personally there has never been anything like being in front of a group of people and feeling that I’m making a contribution to making their lives a better place!

What Makes us Different?

Someone asking recently, “what makes us different?” Well without visiting all the competitors websites I can’t really tell you!

But what I can tell you is what makes us who we are. And that is, in a modern world full of noise, complicated abstractions, and  jobs that often require a huge amount of conceptual awareness, we never forget one thing. And that is that we are all human. Sometimes we just need to forget for a while what role we are in, what hierarchy and dynamics we are part of, and simply remind ourselves of our connection with our humanity and what we have in common with the people around us. And I’ll stand firmly by my belief that what we offer are the most powerful and potent ways I know to come home to yourself, to remember who you are, and to feel WELL.

Ultimately we aren’t trying to make you better at your job, we are just here to try and help you be healthier and happier human beings and believe everything else flows from there!

Meet The Management Team

Richard

Founder & Director

Richard has over 20yrs experience in wellness and is founder of Creative Wellness, specialising in yoga, wellness coaching, Acupuncture, the body-mind connection and retreat management. He’s passionate about understanding and creating what you need to have a successful life – measured from the deepest level of your own perception, not through achieving in the eyes of others.

He previously developed his Creative Yoga brand into one of London’s most exciting yoga projects, organising and teaching some of the capitals biggest and most unique events.

He also works internationally, helping facilitate and direct retreat programmes at the world renowned Moinhos Velhos retreat – contributing to it becoming rated amongst the top 10 detox retreats in the world by The Times. His first book Understanding Human Nature; A User’s Guide To Life was published in 2021 and rated in the top 10 Self-Published books of 2021 by Bookbag.

He emphasises the importance of life choices, occupations and relationships and how they relate to health, and believes that true achievement is balancing all elements of life, not just achieving in one area such as work, which is a common pattern.

Having moved between living in stressful cities like London and peaceful tranquil natural environments he understands the challenges that modern urban life brings, and can help to educate on and support the inherent stress that is part of corporate lifestyles.

He has helped thousands of people, been featured across many media channels, organised and taught at many high-profile events, and delivered wellbeing programmes to multinational clients.

Richard also draws on a wealth of other experience including extensive practice of 5 Rhythms Dance and other movement practices, Tai Chi, Meditation, Native American Ceremony, and various other forms of energy and bodywork. He has also spent time living in the Findhorn Foundation intentional community.

One of his favourite quotes is by Antoine de Saint Exupery: “What is essential is invisible to the eye’.”

Cinzia

Wellbeing Programme Director

Cinzia joined Creative Wellness in 2020 as a yoga and mindfulness teacher and as the company continued to grow quickly became part of the management team. She has had a longstanding interest in holistic health and started her journey by initially becoming an energy field practitioner, then an holistic massage therapist before graduating into yoga teaching. She has also completed specialist courses in yoga and mindfulness for Autism and ADHD, as well as yoga for children with special needs.  In addition to this Cinzia also has specific interest in breathing techniques, sound healing and other holistic practises

Cinzia enjoys making yoga and wellness practices accessible to everybody, sharing this special science of life with different populations and different needs. She quickly dismisses perceptions of wellness practices being related to flexibility or physical strength and instead understands that the power lies in focusing on being present we are in our body and mind, embracing all facets of ourself. She knows how simple practices like stretching, deep breathing and deep relaxation can massively impact our state of wellness.

She sees wellness practices as a journey towards reconnecting with our inner beauty and truth and this is what fascinates her, such simple practices being so profoundly uplifting for the participant and those people around them.

She has a caring and empathic personality and has found great support and benefits herself from wellness practices during the most difficult times of her life. She’s happy to share the benefits of her experience with all different age groups and clients tailoring her offering to meet the unique needs of the people she’s working with. When we are able to get out of stress and go into a relaxed state, this creates the optimum condition and possibility for positive change.

Michaela

Wellbeing Programme Director

Michaela also joined Creative Wellness in 2020. She is a yoga, meditation and mindfulness teacher from South Shields who has completed her mindfulness teacher development through the British mindfulness institute and Enter Mindfulness with Dr Patricia Collard.

Her background is in adult learning and leadership development, and is fascinated with how people learn and grow. She has developed and implemented many corporate programmes and workshops in the areas of overall wellbeing, mental wellbeing, team leadership, sales, change management and more.

Alongside this she has practiced Yoga for 16 years and find it to be one of the most transformative and integrated disciplines in improving and maintaining overall health.

As well as coordinating classes and events in London and overseeing our online offering she also looks after our North East services given it’s her native territory.
